Madison was hit with a blizzard last night through this morning, and the bus system was shut down. I was unable to go to work today (I guess I could have walked across frozen Lake Mendota—but the family I work with is too nice for that.)

I’m trying to be productive with this snow day.

I used up the last of my eggs and butter (I’m still working on the milk) and made cookies and frosting from scratch, and from memory.

I also rounded up the loose ends I want to ship home—a few pieces of art, and some computer speakers. They’re oddly sized, so I wrapped them in shipping paper. They look like old-fashioned parcels to me.

So NOW I feel good about seeing friends, knitting, and watching Battlestar Galactica for the rest of the day…
