Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer. I spend my life along the Raritan River without air conditioning at home or in my car, (usually) without complaint. Gardens are growing, the sun out is till 9 p.m., I take walks, I feed and turn compost, I swat away mosquitoes and I sleep deeply.
This weekend the chance to escape to some fresh mountain air came my way. I took it.
It was the right call. Any chance to see a friend and explore a new region, take walks, sing along to Florence + the Machine on the road, and try out new tasty yet healthy snacks is the right call.
